Flat rates vs. Packages: choosing how an item is priced

Choose between simple flat rates (full day, half day, hourly) or named pricing tiers like "Standard" and "Premium."

Where to find it

Fleet → open an item → Pricing tab

Every item is priced one of two ways: Flat Rates, where you set a price per full day, half day, or hour, or Packages, where you name your own tiers (like "Standard" and "Premium") each with its own duration and price. You pick one mode per item — you can't mix both.

How it works

Flat Rate mode (the default):

  • Full Day Price — the base price for a full day's rental.
  • Half Day Price — an optional price for a fixed time-slot booking, with its own start and end times.
  • Hourly Price — an optional per-hour price, with its own minimum/maximum hours and daily minimum/maximum charge.

Package mode:

  • Package rows — your own named tiers, minimum 1 and maximum 20 per item. Each has:
  • Package Name — shown to the customer at checkout (e.g. "Standard," "Premium").
  • Duration — the minimum length of that package, in hours or days.
  • Price — what the customer pays for that duration.

Example

A jet ski rental could use Flat Rate mode with a Full Day Price of $250 and an Hourly Price of $60/hour with a 2-hour minimum. Or it could use Package mode with a "Half-Day Standard" package at $150 for 4 hours and a "Full-Day Premium" package at $300 for 8 hours that includes extra fuel.

Good to know

  • Switching pricing mode on an existing item replaces how it's priced — check your existing bookings and links before switching.
  • Multi-day and multi-hour discounts apply on top of whichever mode you choose — see Multi-day and multi-hour discounts on one item.
  • The full order Renta follows to calculate a final price — including discounts, add-ons, coupons, tax, and the platform fee — is covered in How a price is calculated.
