Setting up your business the first time

The setup wizard is a short walkthrough that gets a new Renta account ready to take bookings: a welcome step, your details, connecting your payment processor (Stripe), and a final confirmation.

Where to find it

You land on this wizard automatically the first time you sign up. If you leave partway through, coming back to your dashboard reopens it where you left off.

How it works

The wizard has these steps, done in order:

1. Welcome — a short introduction using your business name 2. Business details or Personal details — whichever applies to how your account is set up: business accounts enter phone, email, address, existing website, and business category; personal accounts enter the equivalent personal contact and address fields 3. Stripe Connect — connects Stripe (the company that processes your card payments) so money can move to your bank account 4. Complete — a final confirmation screen once everything above is finished

You can step back to an earlier step at any time before finishing.

Good to know

• You don't take real payments during the wizard — you start in Demo mode, which uses fake test cards so you can try everything safely.
• If you already completed the wizard, visiting it again just takes you back to your dashboard, unless you deliberately reopen it.
• Setting up your checkout flow, building your website, and going live are each handled on their own separate screens after this wizard — see Going live: turning on real payments.
