Tours and cabins: common questions

Short answers about the Tours and Cabins pages. Both are simple lists you manage by hand. Each answer links to the full article where there is one.

Finding the pages

Where are Tours and Cabins in the menu?

They are not in the left sidebar. The pages exist at the addresses `/tours` and `/cabins` in your Renta admin, so type `/tours` or `/cabins` after your Renta web address while signed in. See Managing group tours and Managing cabin rentals.

Who on my team can open them?

Owners, managers and staff all can. The permissions table at Settings → Team → Permissions lists "View tours", "Manage tours", "View cabins" and "Manage cabins", and all three roles have each of them.

Tours

How do I add a tour?

Open the Tours page and press + Add Tour. Fill in the name, an optional description, Duration (hrs), Price (cents) and Max Capacity, then press Create. See Managing group tours.

Why does the tour price say "cents"?

The price box expects cents, not dollars. For a $75 tour, type 7500. The tour card then shows it as $75.00.

How long can a tour be, and how many people?

Duration is in hours and goes up in half-hour steps from 0.5. Max Capacity must be at least 1 (it starts at 10). The card shows it as, for example, "2h · 8 spots".

How do I edit a tour?

Click its card, change the fields and press Save.

Can I delete a tour?

Not from this page. There is no delete button on the Tours page, only Create and Save.

Why does the page say "No tours created yet."?

Nothing has been added for your business yet. Use + Add Tour.

How many tours are listed at once?

50 per page, with previous and next buttons.

Cabins

How do I add a cabin?

Open the Cabins page and press + Add Cabin. Fill in the name, an optional description, Price/Night (cents), Max Guests and a location, then press Create. See Managing cabin rentals.

Why does the cabin rate say "cents"?

Like tours, the nightly rate is entered in cents. For $180 a night, type 18000. The card then shows "$180.00/night".

Can I add photos or amenities in the cabin form?

The form has only name, description, nightly price, max guests and location. Amenities appear on a cabin's card when a cabin already has them, but you cannot type them into this form.

How do I edit or remove a cabin?

Click its card to edit it and press Save. There is no delete button on the Cabins page.

What these pages do not do

Do these pages show tour dates, registrations or a cabin calendar?

No. They only keep the list of tours and cabins (name, description, duration or nightly rate, capacity). Nothing on these pages shows departures, who has registered, or which nights are booked, and neither page has a booking button. Bookings you take go through Bookings like any other.
